Goan Prawn Curry
Goan Prawn
Curry.
A flavorful coconut based gravy with a blend of spices that
is cooked by addition of the local fresh fish.
Ingredients
1 whole Grated coconut
6 Red chilies
2 Green chilies
1tsp Coriander seeds
1tsp Cumin seeds
6 Kokum Peels
5gms Tamarind
1tsp Turmeric powder
Garlic 6pods
1 Onion chopped
Fish [Mackrel, Pomfret, Prawns]
Oil to sauté.
Method:
1. Grind the coconut with red chilies,
garlic, coriander seeds, tamarind, cumin seeds, turmeric powder into a fine paste
.

Clean the fish and marinate with salt, pepper
and turmeric and keep aside.
3.
In a sauce pan add oil, sauté chopped onions
till translucent, add green chilies.
4.
Add the curry paste in the sauce pan and add
little water.
5.
When the gravy simmers, add the fish and kokum.
6. Simmer till prawns/fish is cooked and taste for
seasoning.
7.
Serve in a bowl and garnish with a slice of green
chili and kokum on top.
