Prawn Cutlet

PRAWN CUTLET


Ingredients:
250gms Prawns [small]
2 Onions
3 Green Chilies
1 Tomato
5 Cloves of Garlic
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
1½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
½ teaspoon Red chili powder
½ teaspoon Garam Masala powder
1 Egg
Bread Crumbs to coat
Oil to fry
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves
2 Limes

Method:
-          Clean and marinate the prawns with salt, lime juice and ½ teaspoon turmeric powder. Keep aside.
-          Finely chop onions, tomato, green chilies and garlic.

-          In a pan heat oil, add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and let it crackle. Add the onions and sauté for 2 minutes.
-          Add garlic, tomato and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add green chilies, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, lime juice and salt. Sauté on low heat for 2 minutes. Add the marinated prawns and cook till the prawns are cooked. Keep aside.


-          Boil potatoes till soft. Peel the potatoes and mash. Add salt.

-          Add the prawn mixture to the mashed potato and mix. Add chopped coriander leaves, mix and check for salt.
 

-          In a platter spread bread crumbs. Beat egg in a bowl and keep aside.










-          Take a small portion of the cutlet mixture, make round ball and flatten the ball with your palm.

-          Dip the cutlet into the beaten egg and coat it with bread crumbs.


 


-          Heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry the cutlet on a low flame.

-          Fry till both the sides of the cutlet are golden brown.
-          Serve hot with  lemon wedges and sliced onions.
